How long have they/were they running their business

So it’s important your business coach has been around a while, successfully. Do they understand the current marketplace, the challenges, the routes to market options, remaining sustainable, plus a myriad of other business issues as well as being able to ask and challenge you with the right questions to help you find the right answers for you and your business? What’s their past experience
Business coaches need to have an understanding and multitude of experience in order to help you deal successfully with all that running a business requires: customer service, team development, marketing, advertising, building relationships, and so on…
Do they have the necessary qualifications
Although (unfortunately) not a regulated industry, for a Business Coach with any integrity it will be important for them to feel recognised in practicing their trade with awarding bodies, they will be keen on continuous development and will have the learning to back this up and will therefore will have the preferred qualifications that indicate they have the ability, drive and passion to help business owners achieve their goals.
Do they practice what they ‘preach’
Do your due diligence. If you’re deliberating whether to hire a business coach, have a check around – are they/have they run a business you would aspire to have? What do their previous clients say about them?
Will their coaching meet your requirements
Any business coach worth their salt will offer a free consultation. In this you should clearly be able to understand how they will be able to help you – what results will you and your business realise. How will your goals be achieved and how long will the coaching program take.
